Just when you finally worked off that extra holiday pound (or pounds), the Surfas Test Kitchen hosts an irresistible free demonstration of Bacon Decadence by Amy Jurist, chef and proprietress of Amy’s Underground Culinary Adventures.

The menu will include bacon-maple bread pudding, bacon potato pancakes, and candy bacon.

It’s official: like 2009 in New York, 2011 is L.A.’s year of the pig. (We’re always a couple years behind…)

Calling all CSA farmers, leaders and members! Just Food’s annual conference brings CSAers together to talk shop, have Q&As with farmers, and have a little wine and cheese. Jean-Paul Courtens and Jody Bolluyt of New York’s Roxbury Farm will give the keynote address (Courtens started New York City’s first CSA back in 1991) and the CSA with the highest percentage of members in attendance wins a free canning class!
